Come tradizione vuole, anche nel 2019, durante la GDC di San Francisco si svolgerà l'Independent Games Festival, o IGF per gli amici. Per chi non lo conoscesse, si tratta del più prestigioso evento dedicato agli sviluppatori indipendenti in cui viene premiato il meglio della scena. L'IGF 2019 si svolgerà il 20 marzo alle ore 6.30pm PT.
Tra i titoli di quest'anno spicca la massiccia presenza di Return of the Obra Dinn di Lucas Pope, con ben cinque nomination, tra le quali il Seumas McNally Grand Prize, la più prestigiosa delle categorie dell'IGF.
