A quanto pare, Need for Speed: Rivals ha conquistato anche i redattori giapponesi di Famitsu, che gli hanno assegnato un ottimo 35/40 (versioni PlayStation 3 e Xbox 360). Certo, hanno fatto anche di meglio due titoli decisamente più "nipponici", ovvero Nobunaga's Ambition: Creation per PlayStation 3 (36/40) e Puzzle & Dragons Z per Nintendo 3DS 36/40.
