In occasione degli Italian Videogame Awards che si sono svolti questa sera presso il Teatro Dal Verme di Milano, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild è stato eletto gioco dell'anno.
Il riconoscimento per il miglior personaggio è andato a Senua di Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, mentre Prey e Cuphead si sono portati a casa rispettivamente le statuette per la miglior narrativa e la miglior direzione artistica.
A NieR: Automata quella per il miglior comparto audio; What Remains of Edith Finch si è imposto nella categoria indie, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle invece ha trionfato come miglior gioco destinato alla famiglia e miglior gioco italiano. Il premio innovazione è andato a Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, mentre la scelta del pubblico è ricaduta su Horizon Zero Dawn.
Nella giuria dell'evento era presente anche la redazione di Multiplayer.it, rappresentata da Pierpaolo Greco.
